#2 of 19 Sights & Landmarks in Kangaroo Island “ The lighthouse and its history are interesting enough but our tour guide Mick made it an enormously funny and entertaining tour. “ Highly recommend a trip to Cape Borda and while you’re there, take the walking path to the clifftop lookout. The Kangaroo Island kangaroo, Rosenberg's sand goanna, southern brown bandicoot, tammar wallaby, common brushtail possum, short-beaked echidna, Australian sea lion and long-nosed fur seal are native to the island, as well as six bat and frog species. The sole endemic vertebrate species is a small marsupial carnivore, the Kangaroo Island dunnart.
Author's Notes: So, I'm going to do a very ambitious project. I am going to FINISH this fanfic so I can start on a new one. I can't believe a new yoshi game already came out! Man, I was not expecting that. I am full of ideas so, I hope you all enjoy the story! ^^ These chapters are gonna be relatively short for now, but that's because I'm just getting warmed up.

'Alright Baby DK, let's get you to Sirius!' shouted Sapphira rather enthusiastically.
The baby chimp clapped and giggled from her enthusiasm. Sapphira smiled at the baby and continued to walk ahead.
Meanwhile, Mitch would be spying on the light blue yoshi with his binoculars. He carefully followed the yoshi's movement, attempting to learn her tactics.
'You know all the yoshi does is jump from platform to platform. Maybe swallow some enemies? And then jump more platform? What is there to learn?' said Bob.
'Hold on Bob, I need to observe his movements. That is a male yoshi, right?' replied Mitch.
Bob became momentarily quiet. 'I don't know. Maybe it's a boy?'
'It's a boy! Come on, it should be obvious,' said Carl.
'Might be a girl, though. You never know,' said Mitch.
Bob pushes Mitch away from him and snatched the binoculars. He peered through the binoculars and observed the yoshi himself. 'Hmmm..I think it's a boy.'
Mitch slowly stood up and wiped his robe. 'You know, you may be right Bob. We shouldn't jump to conclusions though. We don't have any decisive evidence,' said Mitch.

'What, challenging you on what?' replied Mitch, being rather confused.
'I will prove to you that the yoshi is a male!' Bob immediately flew away.
Carl immediately follow Bob behind. 'Ooooh, I wanna help!'
Mitch reluctantly followed as well. 'I don't think this is going to end well,' he mumbled to himself.

Sapphira stood next to the stork stop and waited. A few minutes passed and the stork did not arrive. The light blue yoshi sat down and just stared at the sky.
'I wonder what is taking the stork so long. I would expect him to follow us,' said Sapphira to Baby DK. The baby chimp would just be sleeping on her back.
'Oh my goodness, I am so sorry!' cried out the stork from afar. He flew above Sapphira and immediately grabbed Baby DK and threw Baby Peach onto Sapphira's back.
'By now!' shouted the stork, flying away in a rush.
'I wonder what he's rushing for,' said Sapphira.
The stork placed the babies below a tree and quickly flew up to a female stork, who was perched onto the tree.
'So, where were we?' said the stork in a flirtatious manner.
Baby Peach's cry was also going to sound more adult-like.An early screenshot showcasing a battle with seems to suggest that Big Guy was once going to be organic, as he had no patches on him in that picture (although one patch is visible near his right foot, which may merely mean his graphics were incomplete at the time). One screenshot of an unknown origin shows a Black traversing a flowery area with. The particular event illustrated in the picture doesn't seem to be left in the final game.
Sapphira traversed through the windy area with no problem. Baby Peach instinctively opened up her parasol, allowing the yoshi to fly up much higher. She scaled through the cliff and used the wind and parasol to fly up higher. She eventually saw some conveniently placed arrows and followed it.
She saw a large skull that stood over a small gap.
'I wonder what sort of creature that skull belonged too,' said Sapphira. She purposefully fell into the gap and landed near a door. She opened the door and walked inside.
A kangaroo with a rather large pouch stared at the yoshi. Sapphira walked up to the kangaroo and stared at it back.
After a few minutes of awkward staring Sapphira blinked and shook her head.
'I do not know what I'm supposed to do here,' said Sapphira. She looked at the baby on her back, hoping for some enlightenment.
Me: *facepalm*
'I want to ride the kangaroo!' shouted Carl all of a sudden.
'No, Carl! That's not what we're here for!' cried out Bob as he chased after Carl.
'Uhm, I believe the pouch is only for the infant, if it has one. Kangaroos can also be rather defensive creatures so I wouldn't try to get so close to one,' said Sapphira. 'The pouch is used strictly for nursing and protecting its child.'
Carl jumps into the kangaroo's pouch. He waved his arm and shouted as if he was in an amusement park ride. The kangaroo stared at Carl for a few moment. Suddenly, it flashed its sharp teeth at Carl.

'Come on, jump!' shouted Carl. He kicked the Kangaroo's belly within the pouch. Suddenly, the kangaroo shrieked and bit Carl's head.
'Aaaaaaaaah!' cried out Carl in pain. He jumped out of the Kangaroo and runs around in circles, having the kangaroo still biting onto his head.
Mitch and Bob grabbed onto the Kangaroo's feet and attempted to pull the Kangaroo off of Carl's head. Pulling only caused more pain for Carl, so the Toadies stopped immediately.
Mitch pondered for a moment. A light bulb lit over his head. 'Ah hah! '
Mitch flew over to the light blue yoshi and grabbed one of her eggs. 'I need to borrow this.' he said. He quickly threw the egg at the kangaroo. The kangaroo let go of Carl and glared at Mitch.
'Run away!' shouted Mitch.
All of the Toadies flew away. As soon as the Toadies were out of sight, the Kangaroo calmed down and hoped closer to Sapphira. The Kangaroo picked up Sapphira and placed her into its pouch.
'Thanks,' said Sapphira, smiling at the Kangaroo.

The Kangaroo jumped high into the air and hovered over the wall briefly, allowing Sapphira to grab the coins up in the air. Sapphira held onto the kangaroo's pouch while baby Peach giggled by the thrills of riding the kangaroo. Eventually, the kangaroo made one final jump and landed hard on the ground. Sapphira instinctively jumped out of the pouch and entered through the door at the dead end.
The rest of the way would be rather eventless. The orange sky gradually turned darker and the stars began to appear one-by-one. She jumped into the air and Baby Peach opened up her parasol, allowing the yoshi to soar much higher into the air. Sapphira finally reached her goal and spotted Sirius lying under the familiar tree.
Sapphira walked up to Sirius and places the baby next to her.
'Well, I made it safely. I hope you had a nice rest,' said Sapphira.
Sirius stood up and placed the baby onto her saddle. 'Yep, I'm ready to kick some butt!'
The toadies arrived at Hector the Reflector's Haunted House. They landed near the entrance and banged on the door as hard as they could.
'Kaaaaaammmeeeeeeek!' shouted the Toadies simultaneously.
Kamek reluctantly opened the door. 'What do you freaks want?'
Kamek dropped his wand as soon as he saw an angry kangaroo staring down at the Toadies from behind. He slowly picked up his wand and closed the door shut.

Yoshi's Island Flash
As you can tell from this chapter, Sapphira avoids any sort of problems. She prefers to keep peace, but of course that is not always possible. I really admire her calm and peaceful personality. It sometimes reflect myself at times. Even though Sapphira doesn't always resolve peace, she does at least have enough influence to prevent situations from getting far worse.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter! For now, I am going to keep these chapters short because I rather not use up all of my ideas in one single chapter. See you next update! As for the 'challenge' to determine the gender of a Yoshi, I am going to save that for next chapter. I realize that it will be a lot more funnier if they try to mess with Sirius.
Yes, the Kangaroo is vicious.
My boyfriend is also going out of country, so I'm going to take advantage of my alone time to make more wonderful stories for my readers!

Yoshi's Island DS is a direct sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for the Nintendo DS (and Yoshi's New Island for Nintendo 3DS), and part of the Yoshi's Island series.
Taking place after the original game, Kamek kidnaps all of the babies in the Mushroom Kingdom to take them to Bowser's Castle. Thankfully, the Stork attacks the Toadies and force them to drop two, who are revealed to be Mario and Princess Peach. The two babies land on Yoshi's Island and Yoshi and his friends decide to help Mario once again by rescuing all the babies.
Gameplay remains largely the same as the original Yoshi's Island, but has quite a bit more added features. In addition to the original Mario, there are several other babies that give Yoshis added abilities. Mario himself allows the Yoshis to run fast and see red M blocks. Peach allows the Yoshis to Flutter Jump higher and ride air currents. Baby Donkey Kong can climb vines and chains. Wario has a magnet that attracts coins and other magnetic objects. Finally, Baby Bowser can breathe fire, though at the cost of the Yoshis not being able to make eggs. The levels start out fairly easy, but later on become very hard.

This video game provides examples of:
- And Now for Someone Completely Different: In World 2-1 of Yoshi's Island DS, you are forced to use Baby DK to play through the entire level the first time you play it, and you could only use Mario and Peach upon replaying the level. While Baby Peach had a good reason (stolen off Yoshi's back via Ukiki), Baby Mario gets no justification for why you can't use him. The same thing was done in both World 3-5 and World 4-5, with Baby Wario and Baby Bowser respectively. Again, no justification exists on why you can't use the other babies the first time around in World 4-5.
- Antlion Monster: The boss of the third world in Yoshi's Island DS, Priscilla the Peckish, is this. She lives in a massive sand pit and eats the Shy Guys that fall into it, spits out Needlenoses at you, and if you try to jump over her, she will leap up out of the sand pit and try to eat you, chewing on you for a few seconds then spitting you out if she does.
- Ascended Extra: The Stork was kidnapped along with Baby Luigi in the original game, but in Yoshi's Island DS, it now helps Yoshi out via the Stork Stops.
- Autosave: As with the original, the game saves after every level.
- Babies Make Everything Better: Yoshi ends up carrying babies other than Mario, all of whom have their own abilities.
- Back for the Finale: After abandoning Yoshi earlier, Baby Wario and Baby Bowser return for the final level.
- Damn You, Muscle Memory!: Defied, as there are two control schemes for people who have played either the SNES or GBA version of the first game.
- Delivery Stork: The stork helps deliver the babies home. And in this game, he can exchange babies.
- Distressed Damsel: Not Peach, surprisingly, as she's actually a playable character in Yoshi's Island DS (She does get kidnapped by monkeys in World 2-1, however.)
- Down the Drain: 'Big Bungee Piranha's Lair'.
- Excuse Plot: The story involving Bowser and the star children is put into action in the opening, but after that it's only brought up in the second-to-last world and is in a Meanwhile Scene that has no real effect on the actual adventure.
- Flipping Helpless: Similar to Hookbill in the original, adult Bowser is defeated by flipping him over, then ground pounding his weak point.
- Future Me Scares Me / I Hate Past Me / Other Me Annoys Me: Baby Bowser and adult Bowser in Yoshi's Island DS do not get along well until they team up for the final boss fight.
- Galactic Conqueror: Bowser aims to be this by gathering the seven Star Children.
- Gangplank Galleon: World 3.
- Guest-Star Party Member: Baby Wario and Baby Bowser are only usable for very specific sets of levels, after which they leave the 'party' until the final level.
- Heel–Face Turn: Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island DS. And he Face Heel TurnsRIGHT BACK when you reach the Final Boss.
- High-Altitude Battle: Moltz the Very Goonie, literally battled in free fall.
- Invasion of the Baby Snatchers: There's a worldwide baby-snatching spree led by the Koopas. It turns out that a time-traveling Bowser and Kamek are doing this to harness the power of the Star Children, whose power could allow Bowser to conquer the universe.
- Jungle Japes: World 2.
- Kangaroo Pouch Ride: In certain bonus Coin areas, friendly Kangaroos allow Yoshis to ride them to gather all the coins.
- Last Episode, New Character: Baby Yoshi in The Stinger.
- Legacy Character: The Baby Green Yoshi born at the end of Yoshi's Island DS is implied to be the modern day Yoshi, which would mean that the playable (Green) Yoshi in these games is a different one.
- Living MacGuffin: The time-traveling adult Bowser searches for the seven Star Children that will allegedly allow him to conquer the universe. They turn out to be Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, Baby DK, Baby Wario, Baby Bowser, and Baby Yoshi.
- Meaningless Lives: It is very easy to rack up over 100 lives in the first half of the game. In the second half of the game, you WILLneed them.
- Mighty Glacier: Every baby who isn't Mario is this. They all have very useful abilities otherwise, but they disallow Yoshi from running as fast as he did in the original game.
- Minecart Madness: 'High-Speed Cart Race'.
- Mission-Pack Sequel: Other than the addition of new babies to use, the gameplay is fundamentally unchanged from its predecessor.
- Monster Compendium: DS has a museum of every enemy defeated with an egg.
- Nerf: Red eggs will not bounce off surfaces. Though it nerfs the egg projectile in general, the primary effect is that it makes exploiting the fact that eggs change colour as they bounce to gain red eggs harder than in the original.
- DS nerfed the entire game in general by completely removing the inventory system. Now, not only can you not make the game easier by refilling your egg supply at the touch of a button or whipping out a melon to spit seeds at enemies, but you are now forced to guard your health bar with your very life, since you can no longer max out your star count at the goal ring simply by using a +10 or +20 star card.
- No-Damage Run: Like in the original game this is required to get a perfect score on fortress and castle levels, since even one hit from a boss will rob you of at least 1 point off the baby's timer and there's no way to refill the timer in them. (It is possible in some cases to retrieve the baby before the timer begins counting down, but it requires lightning quick reflexes and a bit of luck, so it generally isn't going to happen.)
- Nostalgia Level: World 1-1 is a recreation of 1-1 from the original game, 1-4 is a recreation of 1-4 (complete with almost the same boss, except in Dual Boss form) while 4-1, 'Rock 'n' Fall', is more or less a combination of 'Visit Koopa And Para-Koopa' and 'Lakitu's Wall' from the original game.
- Ominous Floating Castle: Bowser's Castle in this game.
- Plot Tailored to the Party: DS is structured so that you have to use all of the babies at some point or another by setting up obstacles which require a particular baby's unique ability to get past.
- Ring-Out Boss: Big Guy the Stilted is fought this way.
- Rise to the Challenge: 'Welcome to Yoshi Tower!'
- Rotoscoping: Bowser's spritesactually come fromYoshi Topsy-Turvy, redrawn to fit the graphical style of the former.
- Sequel Difficulty Spike: This game is widely considered to be a much tougher game (unto even Platform Hell levels) than the original, with many dangerous traps that will execute you simply for the crime of not expecting them. The lack of an inventory system to fall back on isn't helping.
- Super Title 64 Advance: Yoshi's Island DS.
- This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: Wario's only advantage over the other babies is the magnet he carries. This only comes in handy for obstacles that are specifically designed to make use of it.
- Trial-and-Error Gameplay: A lot of the obstacles toward the end of the game are downright unfair, and even go so far as to kill you if you don't notice them.
